Calla Lilies are such beautiful flowers and they come in so many different colors like white, pink and all shades of purple.
I just love making cupcakes or cakes with this elegant flower in sugarpaste.
Here's the wedding cake I made the other week with sugarpaste calla lilies. The wedding took place at a wonderful restaurant in downtown Toronto called La Maquette.
The top two tiers were vanilla cake with vanilla swiss meringue buttercream and the bottom tier was Chocolate Sour Cream with chocolate buttercream.

I just love the simple styling of this cake. Your fondant work is great! ~Amy, http://sugarflowershop.com
Gorgeous!!! Have you seen "Cake Boss?" I think it's online on TLC...
that's so delicate & so gorgeous. beautiful!!
Just lovely!
This cake looks absolutely gorgeous! How long did it take u to decorate?
wow, what gorgeous flowers!!
Nothing beats handmade sugar flowers, in this case lilies! (my favorite) After the wedding or celebration you can ask the cake decorator to glaze them so they last over 10 years, much better than fresh flowers.
I never heard of glazing them, what are they glazed with?
Stunning as usual!!
This cake is very exquisite! Your work is always flawless! Amazing!
What a beautiful cake! :)
What a lovely cake. How long does it take you to create something like that? I just recently tasted buttercream frosting and I am hooked!
Thank you everyone!
Baker's Cake - yes, I've been watching Cake Boss. But too much yelling and I don't get why he says that gumpaste flowers are edible - he has wires in them.
Marianne - I never actually calculate how long the cakes take me to decorate... I guess I just don't want to know :-) But I always make the flowers at least 5 days in advance and make extras.
Cake photos - What is glazing? Iman and I have never heard of that.
Inventing Weddings - This cake is actually covered in fondant. And I can't believe you only recently tasted buttercream frosting! :-)
So very nice! Calla lillies don't get the respect they deserve. They are very elegant!
