It has been a while since I've done a Lego themed cake and I love the classic lego myself! This was cake #2 for my nephews birthday for his lego party with his school friends.
Here are some different angles of the cakes. The cakes were chocolate velvet with chocolate swiss meringue buttercream.
It's that time of year again, when my nephew's birthday rolls around. This year's theme was a toss up between the movie Hero 6, Lego and Minecraft. Well I'm glad it wasn't Minecraft... :-)
My nephew had 2 celebrations this year, so I made him a Baymax cake for our family celebration and a Lego cake for his school friend party. I will post that one next week.
I love when I have the freedom to design cakes. I have many regular clients that I work with year after year and they will give me a theme and trust my design style. A few years back, it started with this baby shower cake and then Lola's 1st birthday cake.
This year, the birthday girl turned 2 and wanted Hello Kitty! I wanted to experiment with some edible ink painting and I loved it!
Many years back, I made a fun Safari-themed retirement cake and this time around, the couple celebrated their 70th birthdays. They have pretty much traveled everywhere, so a luggage cake was definitely appropriate.
One of the first cakes that I posted on my blog was a big blue whale so I had a lot of fun creating another one this past weekend. This cake was many many layers of blueberry swirl cake (made by the client) with lemon zest swiss meringue buttercream.
These Frozen cupcakes are perfect for a cold day in Toronto. I used edible markers and food coloring to freehand draw the characters onto the fondant disc.
The cupcakes were chocolate sour cream with vanilla bean buttercream and strawberry buttercream
A cake for the CrossFitter, Powerlifter or weightlifter in your life. I loved making this cake as it crosses over with my other career as a Personal Trainer. I have to admit, last year I did focus a lot more on training and nutrition for clients. This year, I do plan to do the same - but I do love this cake thing so you'll definitely see more creations from me.
I hope you had a great start to 2015 and I wish you all the best!
Not a lot of snow here is Toronto, so these snowman will have to do! Wishing everybody happiest of holidays and thanking all those who don't get a break. We appreciate the work that you do!
