Tanooki Mario Cake

A 3D Super Mario 3D Land Cake for a 5th birthday. 

Tanooki Mario's body was chocolate sour cream cake with vanilla swiss meringue buttercream and his head was rice krispie treat.

Rainbow & Unicorn Cake

Another year has gone by and my little girl is now 5.  From Classic Pooh, Sesame Street, Toopy & Binoo, Superheroes and now Rainbows and Unicorns.

 

She had two parties this year - one with her school friends and one with family.  Boy did those kids love the rainbow cake layers.  They each got to take home a cupcake with a rainbow docorated sugar cookie.

For our family party, I was able to conveniently re-use the sugarpaste toppers that I made and add it to a grainfree banana cake with whipped cream - it was delicious!

Willy Wonka Cake

Every April, I look forward to designing a cake for a lovely little girl named Parker.  It all started with this 1st birthday Hot Pink cake.  Then 2nd birthday Bubble Guppies, 3rd birthday My Little Pony and 4th birthday Cinderella cake.

This year was a colorful Willy Wonka themed cake.  I had so much fun with this one - adding in some bottle caps, sweet tarts, laffy taffy and nerds to the design.

5th Birthday Cake: Transformers Cake

I say this every year, but one of my favorite things is to make a birthday cake for my wonderful nephew.  Here's a review of his past birthdays!

• 1st birthday was a Heffalump cake 
• 2nd birthday was a Tractor 
• 3rd birthday was a Crane 
• 4th birthday was a Stegosaurus

This year, Maseo turned 5 and he loves Transformers.  The cake was 6-layers of zesty lemon cake with vanilla swiss meringue buttercream.  He even saved all the handmade sugarpaste decorations.

5th Birthday: Cars 2 Cupcakes

Crocodile Cake

You don't want to meet up with one of these... unless of course it is cake!  I created this fun crocodile cake for a little boys birthday party which was being held at at reptile zoo near Toronto, Reptilia.  How great is that?

I was asked to make a crocodile with the colors from the party graphics and make it more realistic, than cartoony.  I selected the wonderful blue with some green accents and tried to match it with the gecko in the design.

I was so happy with how it turned out.  When I finished the cake, I emailed some photos over to my little nephew since I was telling him about it the day before.  This is what he said.  :-)

"WOW -- I'm a little scared of it- but not too much.  I wish I could eat that when it has a candle on it."   Maseo, Age 4
