4th Birthday Cake: Stegosaurus Cake

Every year, I look forward to celebrating my wonderful nephew's birthday.  I adore creating a cake for him and watching his reaction when he sees the cake.  On his 1st birthday, I made a Heffalump cake, his 2nd birthday was a Tractor and last year it was a Crane.

This year, Maseo is crazy about Dinosaurs, especially the Stegosaurus.
 
The cake was his favorite: strawberry vanilla cake.  And he just loved picking out each of the sugarpaste plates before we served the cake.  I'm excited to see what he is interested in next year so I can make it come to life in cake!

    @Cherry No, I actually don't do a lot of airbrushing. I guess I prefer mixing fondant colors and brushing with edible dust colors.

    Maseo talks about his alter ego- stegosaurus everyday for the past few months, so when he saw the stegosaurus cake he couldn't believe his eyes when he saw it. He thought it was a real dinosaur! It is such a joy to see his reaction when he sees his b-day cake. Thanks for a wonderful cake Auntie Juanita-- such great memories.

    wow Juanita, you did a great job with the colors not using an air brush. I like the details of the plates.

    I love that cake!! Your nephew has a really good reason to be excited about his birthday. Great job! I've been looking at some of the other cakes and the lego one is really neat too. I had 2 sons and they would have flipped for either one.
