Guest Post: 5 Pics Series

I'm excited to start a new series of Guest Posts next week.  Every two weeks, I will be featuring very creative and talented cake designers that I have met online over the past few years.  These designers have multi-faceted design skills and I plan to showcase that in a series of 5 Pics

I will introduce you to them and their 5 Pics will give you a snapshot of their wonderful and vast design skills.  These designers can make something simple and elegant, then also create something 3D & gravity defying.    Here is the format with my own 5 Pics:

#1 - Simple and Elegant Wedding

#2 - Not your typical Wedding Cake
#3 - Something Fun
#4 - Something for the Fashionista
#5 - Show me cute!
#6 Bonus Pic: A Cake-tastrophe – everyone has had one of these!  Fortunately, I was able to catch this in time as I always have extra cake made for my 3D cakes.  Don't worry, it was fixed - see blog post
So, stay tuned next Tuesday for my first Guest Post feature!

Black & White Wedding Cake

Today is just a short and simple post..... a simple and elegant Black & White wedding cake.   I love how black and white work so well together.
The top tier was vanilla butter cake with chocolate swiss meringue buttercream.  The middle tier was strawberry vanilla cake with strawberry buttercream.  The bottom tier was chocolate sour cream cake with chocolate swiss meringue buttercream.

1st Birthday Cake: Safari Cake

As a cake designers, I never usually make the same cake twice.  Every cake is custom designed for each of my clients special occasions.  Many times it is a combination of other cake ideas that they have seen, additional personalized details and then I add in my own design elements.

For this 1st birthday cake, it was a combination of two of my previous cakes:  3-tier animal print cake and the popular elevated tier design.
Each cake tier was alternating chocolate and vanilla layers with vanilla swiss meringue buttercream.

Have a great week!  See you next Tuesday!

Coming Soon:  I will be featuring some guests posts from some of my favorite cake-blog friends.  If you are interested in a feature, leave a comment or email and I will send you the details.
